PHARMACOGNOSTIC STUDY OF LEPIDAGATHIS INCURVA

Abstract Lepidagathis incurva is a common herb which is found in North Estern Indian region-Mizoram and Karnataka Kudajadri hills, Kerala and in Malaysia where it is widely used as a medicinal plant.[1] Traditionally the leaves of Lepidagathis incurva were used to stop bleeding (haemostastic), ear infections and the treatment of anemia. The objective of present study was phytochemical screening of ethanol, hexane and aqueous extract, pharmacognostic screening of L. incurve. Qualitative microscopic evaluation was carried out by taking transverse sections of fresh Leaf and stem of L. incurva.
