STUDY THE IMPORTANCE OF ‘TIME MODALITIES’ IN SELECTING HOMOEOPATHIC REMEDIES USING BOGER’S SYNOPTIC KEY

Abstract

Background: Synopsis makes an outline, “The Synopsis is intended to make clear the general expression or genius of each remedy”, Dr. Boger and therefore help the prescriber to select the correct simillimum. While working with acute as well as chronic cases, maximum concentration should be given to characteristic symptoms of the presenting case. Modalities are one of the characteristic / specific symptoms of the case which makes possible to get closer to the prescribing totality of the case. On the above context the Homoeopathic book named „A SYNOPTIC KEY OF THE MATERIA MEDICA‟ offers most desirable and effortless way to find out the rubrics concerned to the SPECIFIC TIME MODALITIES within a shortest period of time that tends to help examine the specific cases efficiently and accurately. The present article describes the importance of “SPECIFIC PERIOD OR TIME OF AGGRAVATION OF SYMPTOMS” and the concept of modalities towards the analysis of presenting cases. The work is of significant importance on the index plan, because it is considered as a work of Homoeopathic Chronometry. Materials: The present study is a prospective clinical trial where 30 Cases were selected which fulfils the case definition, inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data collection was done according to the standardized Homoeopathic case taking Performa including specific „Time Modalities‟ & was thoroughly maintained during case taking. Criteria for assessment was given. Result: A detailed description of the data collected was represented using tables and charts. Statistical analysis has been done through – student „t‟ (paired) test. Effectiveness of treatment was assessed on the basis of clinical improvement, disappearance or relief of symptoms, and improvement in general health with change in the scores before and after Homoeopathic treatment, (p
