Vaibhavi N. Akhani*, K. K. Patel, K. S. Patel, Dr. L. M. Prajapati and Dr. C. N. Patel
Abstract Prucalopride Succinate is new generation’s selective high affinity 5-HT4 receptor agonist, which may be used for the chronic constipation. The current work is intended towards the development of novel, simple and precise UV-Spectrophotometric method for estimation of Prucalopride succinate present in the tablet formulation using distilled water as a solvent, the absorbance maxima at 226 nm. Calibration curve plotted by taking concentration range 2-10 (µg/mL) against absorbance which exhibited linear relationship with line equation Y= 0.0678x + 0.0568 & R2 value of 0.993. The method was validated as per ICH guideline. Keywords: Prucalopride Succinate, UV Spectrophotometric method, method validation, Pharmaceutical dosage form.
