Abstract

EXTRACTION, PHYSICOCHEMICAL AND PHYTOCHEMICAL EVALUATION OF STEVIA REBAUDIANA

Abstract

Aim of present study was to evaluate powdered whole plant of Stevia rebaudiana on the basis of Physicochemical and Phytochemical parameters. Standardisation was done as per W.H.O. guidelines. Various physicochemical parameters were carried out such as moisture content, total ash, acid insoluble ash, water soluble ash, extractive value. Successive solvent extraction was performed and each extract was subjected to phytochemical screening & Presence of various chemical constitutes were reported.
