ALLOPOLYHERBAL FORMULATIONS: A NOVEL SYMBIOTIC APPROACH

Abstract Allopolyherbal formulation is a novel comprehensive system generated by the combination of rich traditional therapies with modern system of medicine. The medicines which are used in allopathic system focuses to cure only the particular disease and they can lead to another serious or life-threatening disease in the body at the same time. The basic reasons are the incomplete approach of allopathic medicines towards health, inability to reach the root cause of chronic disease and its general failure to provide safety and affordability. Ayurveda is a traditional system of medicine provides a range of potentially beneficial effects for preventing and treating illness through natural therapies. Collaboration of these two systems create a novel embracive combination that can utilize the best of both and helps to create a healthy society. This incorporation of allopathy with herbal modify these medicine systems for the beneficial of patient and to include in the mainstream medicine to extend the already existing therapeutics which is a new challenges for the modern world. The greatest advantage is that the effect of drug will be same and the unwanted side effect can be overcome by reducing dose of allopathic drugs. Because of the presence of active phytochemicals, Polyherbal formulations show high effectiveness and these therapeutic effects are further potentiated when compatible herbs are formulated together in polyherbal formulations. This article focuses on symphonizing Ayurveda with allopathy and impact of allopolyherbal formulations on various pharmacological activities.
