Amol R. Chavan*, Dr. Nachiket Dighe and Prof. Kavita Dhamak

Abstract

Saxagliptin and Dapagliflozin are successfully utilized in the management of Type 2 diabetes mellitus. They are mostly in oral dosage form means tablet. Dapagliflozin is a sodium-glucose co transporter 2 inhibitor (SGLT2) and Saxagliptin dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitors are new class of oral anti-diabetic drugs. These are indicated for treatment of Diabetes mellitus type 2, either alone or in combination with other oral hypoglycaemic agents. The aim of this review is to focus on update of determination of Dapagliflozin, Saxagliptin in bulk and in pharmaceutical preparations using chromatographic and spectrophotometric methods. Dapagliflozin and Saxagliptin are estimated by RP-HPLC, UV, HPLC, RP-HPLC,UPLC, HPTLC methods. For subjective and quantitative estimation of Saxagliptin and Dapagliflozin these diagnostic techniques can be utilized. This review provides detailed information on separation conditions for Dapagliflozin and Saxagliptin alone, in the presence combination with other drugs and in presence of its degradation products.
