A CLINICAL STUDY ON THE EFFECT OF DRAKSHA GHRITA IN THE MANAGEMENT OF PANDU W.S.R. TO IRON DEFICIENCY ANEMIA

Abstract Ayurveda is one of the most ancient system of life, health and cure. The fame of Ayurveda is that it’s treatment still holds the field in spite of many advances in modern science. The pediatric population suffers from a variety of disorders, nutritional disorder is Iron deficiency Anemia in growing children. Pandu roga is varnopalakshita vyadhi where paleness is pathognomonic. Iron deficiency anemia is a disease that has similar paleness, constitutional symptoms, pathogenesis etiologgy. Draksha ghrita is an important drug in classsics which is therapeutically useful. Draksha ghrita has haematinic effect. from all symptoms of pandu mentioned in Ayurvedic text, symptoms like Aruchi, Dourbalya, panduta, shrama, kopan and Hridspandan shows significant relief in this study. Draksha ghirta had no adverse effect like constipation, gastric irritation. The aim of the present study was to assess the efficacy of Draksha ghrita in pandu roga.
