Abstract

DEVELOPMENT AND VALIDATION OF RP-HPLC METHOD FOR THE DETERMINATION OF SERTRALINE IN BULK DRUG AND DOSAGE FORM

Abstract

The present study indicates a simple, accurate and precise RP-HPLC method for the estimation of Sertraline in bulk and in dosage Form. The mobile phase used was ACN: Phosphate buffer = 80:20 (pH 2.9). The specification of the chromatographic system is waters C18, 5m, 150mm x4.6mm, flow rate 1.0ml/min, detection 205nm, and injection volume 20μl and run time 10 min. The retention times found to be 2.30 min. The linearity was in the range of 5-50 μg/ml. The recoveries found to be 99.25 to 100.62%. The proposed method was validated and successfully applied to the estimation of Sertraline and its dosage forms.
