THE RISK FACTORS CHOLELITHIASIS IN ELMAK NIMIR TEACHING HOSPITAL SUDAN

Abstract
Gallstone disease is worldwide problem and it remains to be one of
commonest condition affecting the digestive tract. This study aimed to
study the risk factors of gallstone disease and their incidence in high
risk population. one hundred patients who presented to Almak Naimer
Hospital in Shandia town were include in this study using constructer
questionnaire to determine three factors related to the gallstone
development (weight, advanced age obesity, diabetes mellitus and
combined oral contraceptive. the obese woman presented 52% of study
samples. The multipart showed 42.5% from total patients studied. We
concluded that age, advanced age obesity, diabetes mellitus and
combined oral contraceptive were risk factors for the development of gallbladder stone
disease.
