PHARMACO- THERAPEUTIC EFFICACY OF AROGYAVARDHINI VATI ON MAHASTROTAS (GIT)

Abstract
Arogyavardhini Vati (AV) a Kharaliya Rasakalpa (metallomineral
ingredients) is widely used Ayurvedic herbo-mineral formulation
having broad spectrum therapeutic indications) The word ‘arogya’
signifies ‘good health’ whereas ‘vardhini’ stands for ‘improver’, i.e.
improves or promote good health also termed as
“Sarvarogaprashamani”. Present study is aimed to compile the
available literature regarding composition of (AV) and its unexplored
uses, the therapeutic efficacy, pharmacological actions of (AV) on
Mahastrotas. A comprehensive review has been made through
Sangraha grantha, Samhitas and views of their critics, the journals,
modern books and internet were also screened during the review. This
formulation is characterized for better pharmacokinetic and polyvalent
effects with multiple mechanism of drug action. Hence, it is obliged to
conduct the preclinical and clinical trial to support the therapeutic
efficacy of (AV) cited in the ancient literatures. Present study, deduces that (AV) aids
digestive fire, unclogs body channels for the nutrients to outreach the tissues, stabilizes fats in
the physique and detaches toxins by ameliorating the digestive system. The drug does not
have substantial toxicological effects on brain, liver and kidney. (AV) altogether upgrades
splendid health by balancing all the three Dosha.
