STUDY OF SKIN WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO SKIN AGING - A REVIEW ARTICLE

Abstract
Ayurveda is an ancient science that not only emphasis only to cure a disease but also related to maintain healthiness of human being.[1] The primary aim of ayurveda is to maintain health in a healthy person. According to Aacharya Sushruta, equillibrium of tridoshas, dhatu, mala and agni is considered as health in ayurveda.[2] study of twacha is important as it acts as an index of persons health. It is not only a protective sheath but it is a reflection of internal system of body.[3] After birth growth and senility ultimately leading to death are inevitable process. Aging involves two process that simultaneously come into operation i.e. growth and atrophy.[4] During this aging process cutaneous changes also occurs. Aacharya sharandhar also mentioned it as twacha hrahas (degenration)from fifth decade of life. So here is an attempt to explore the relation of twacha with aging and premature aging.
