SURGICAL INCISIONS AS DESCRIBED BY SUSHRUTA

Abstract Now a day the whole world is hopefully looking toward the Ayurveda for its safe and cheap medication. It is believed that Ayurveda represent the general medicine but it is not true. On referring, the Ayurvedic Samhita there were a lot of descriptions mentioned of surgical treatment and management. In Sushruta Samhita Acharya Sushruta has described the general rule for giving surgical incisions over the different body parts ie. tiryaka, chandramandalvat, ardhachadrakar etc. It is the necessity of time to explore and evaluate the knowledge stored in Sutra, on the parameters of modern medical science and technology. At present the modern surgery is highly pronounced and practiced. This study Is aim of exploration and evaluation of the Ayurvedic rule of incisions comparing with incision of modern surgery.
