MODERN LIFESTYLE - A PREDISPOSING FACTOR IN THE CAUSE OF PRAKLINNVARTMA (ANTERIOR BLEPHARITIS)

Abstract
Praklinnvartma is one of the diseases of Vartma (eyelids). It has close
similarity with the Anterior Blepharitis, which is defined as an
inflammatory condition of the eyelids. Praklinnvartma is caused by the
Kaphakopa, and Kaphakopa is caused by Kaphavridhikar Ahara –
Vihara. Intake of Mansa (meat), Dahiya (curd), Taila, sleeping for the
long hours, smoking etc. all of these leads to increase in the Kapha
dosha, and hence leads to the Klinnta (congestion) of the Vartma.
Anterior Blepharitis is a very common diseases which is encountered
by the clinicians very frequently. Apart from the therapeutics methods
available to treat Anterior Blepharitis, change in the daily lifestyle
habits can also play a crucial role in the cure of the Anterior
Blepharitis. This review article mainly focuses on how lifestyle (bad eating habits and
sedentary life) leds as a causing factor of Praklinnvartma (Anterior Blepharitis).
