Abstract
Diabetes Mellitus is a worldwide epidemic. The dominance of the
disease is predicted to smash around three hundred million in the year
2018 which is equivalent to near about 8.7% of the world people. The
available drugs for diabetes, Insulin or oral hypoglycaemic agents have
one or more side effects. Search for new antidiabetic drugs with
minimal or no side effects from medicinal plants is a challenge
according to WHO recommendations. In this aspect, the present study
was carried out with interest to found out a new organic molecule
which has potent to cure diabetes, produce less toxic effect. Piper
Longum leaves were collected and its ethanolic extract has been
extracted out. This ethanolic extract has been analysed for phyto
-chemical screening, and then Hypoglycaemic activity of this extract has been evaluated by
examine it on Rats. The obtained results shows Piper Longum extract was found to have
marked antidiabetic activity adjacent to Alloxan provoke diabetes.
