CONCEPT OF SHUKRAVAHA STROTAS – A REVIEW

Abstract

In the modern era, achieving a healthy progeny is the ultimate goal of each and every couple, in their married life. Family completed only after having a child. For having a child female as well as male partner, both are equally responsible. Even though the female partner is completely healthy, if male partner is not fit physically or mentally then conception does not occur. Hence male reproductive system has equal importance as female reproductive system, to achieve a healthy pregnancy. According to Ayurveda, we can compare male reproductive system with Shukravaha Strotas. Shukra is the seventh dhatu among saptdhatus, which is essential for Garbhdharana (Conception). And Strotas is nothing but the channel which secrete, store and transport various dhatus in the human body. In this way, Shukravaha Strotas is communicating channels which carry Shukra dhatu all over the body. It is important to study Shukravaha Strotas in order to understand normal structure and physiology of male reproductive system, also to understand etio-pathologies of various diseases which leads to male infertility. In this article we are going to discuss about moolsthanas of Shukravaha strotas, causes, symptoms and treatment of Shukravaha Strotodushti.
