A REVIEW ON THERAPEUTIC APPROACHES FOR COVID-19

Abstract Recently the entire world is threatened by the pandemic 2019 novel coronavirus (2019‐nCoV) Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome SARS-COV2. It is zoonotic in origin, this new strain likely came from bats. The COVID-19 infects people of all ages. The incubation period is between 2-14 days. To control the current outbreak extensive measures have been implemented to reduce person-to-person transmission of COVID-19. It is most likely to spread around 29% in age group between 25-60, 17% chances in 0-20 age group, moderate to severe infection is observed in 10% to 15% of people under 50 & The elder population (more than 75) with low immunity are most likely to get infect and those with underlying medical conditions, 90% of death is observed in this age group. The death rate is around only 2-3% cases. But children’s, health care providers and elderly people are more susceptible so special attention and efforts should be applied. Corona virus cases till date(10/5/2020) are 7,379,717 Deaths 415,481 and recovered 3,639,361. In this review, we highlights the origin, symptoms, transmission, fatality rate and few drugs like, remdesevir, lopinavir, ritonavir and others and precautions as per WHO are mentioned to control the spread of this fatal disease.
