INTERRELATION OF THYROID AND PARATHYROID GLANDS WITH VISHUDDHA CHAKRA AND UDANAVATA IN AYURVED

Abstract In some Indian religions, a chakra (Sanskrit chakras “wheel”) is thought to be a node in subtle body. Chakras are believed to be part of subtle body,not the physical body. It is very important in yoga vigyan. The endocrine system maintains homeostasis by controlling hormones. According to Ayurveda, Vata dosha has prime control over all functions of body. Ayurveda and yoga are interdependent science are already being used in today practice. Its true need to interpret both sciences with modern science which will really show magically results. Endocrine disorder is commonly seen in present era so, to improve the function of endocrine glands, may follow the knowledge Shatchakra and Vata dosha described in Ayurveda which actually works together as a system to balance physical and mental health of individual. Thyroid and parathyroid glands are situated in neck and vishudha chakra point located at these sites. There are several thyroid and parathyroid disorders in modern era due to imbalance of these gland’s hormones balancing. The effort is made to established inter-relationship of thyroid, parathyroid with vishudha chakra and udan vata in Ayurveda.
