MICROSPHERE AS NOVEL DRUG DELIVERY SYSTEMS

Abstract

The purpose of writing this review on microsphere as novel drug delivery system is to compile the recent literature with special focus on maintain the desired concentration at the site with specificity. Microsphere are unusually free flowing powders consisting of protein or synthetic polymers having particle size ranging from 1-1000μm. there are various methods are used for preparation of microspheres offers various advantage to control aspects of drug administration and enhance therapeutic efficacy of given drug. Microspheres are multiparticulate drug delivery system which are prepared to obtain prolonged or controlled drug delivery to improve bioavilability, stability and to target the drug to specific site at predetermined rate. In future by combing various other approaches find central place in novel drug delivery systems.
