NONCOVALENT DNA BINDING INTERACTION OF SMALL MOLECULES BY VARIOUS BIOPHYSICAL TECHNIQUES AND COMPUTATIONAL APPROACH
Nitin Kumar*, Sahil Bansal, Siddhant Kashyap and Kunal
Abstract Recent years, various research authors published binding of small molecules or drugs with DNA. The cellular DNA is the key target for design and development of anti-cancer drugs. Interaction of small molecules with DNA has main two types, covalent and non covalent binding mode. Covalent binding is reversible whereas non covalent binding is non irreversible. Both covalent binding and non covalent binding mechanism based drugs used clinically in various types of cancer. In this review, we briefly presented non covalent binding interaction with DNA investigated by various biophysical techniques viz UV-Vis spectra, fluorescence, iodide quenching (KI), circular Dichroism (CD), iodide quenching, FTIR study, viscosity test, gel electrophoresis experiment, and molecular docking were commonly employed to find out the binding mechanism of small molecules with DNA. Keywords: Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA), CD (Circular dichroism), FTIR (Fouriertransform infrared spectroscopy), EB (Ethidium Bromide). [Full Text Article] [Download Certificate] |
