A REVIEW ON CONCEPTUAL VIEW OF HETU OF STHAULYA

Abstract Obesity is a complex chronic disease involving an excessive amount of body fat which associated with respiratory, mechanical, cardiovascular, metabolic as well as psychological and social comorbidities. The prevalence of obesity has been rising steadily over the last several decades and is currently at unprecedented levels. This increase has occurred across every age, sex, race and smoking status. The rapidly increased incidence of obesity is due to environmental factors that influence a genetically pathological predisposition. Ultimately, body weight is the result of genetics, metabolism, environment, behavior and culture. Physical inactivity, sedentary people burn fewer calories than people who are active.
