EFFECT OF AQUEOUS EXTRACT OF ANOGEISSUS LEIOCARPUS ON BLOOD ELECTROLYTES AND BIOCHEMICAL PARAMETERS OF BROILER CHICKENS

Abstract

The aim of the present study is to evaluate the effect of aqueous extract of Anogeissus leiocarpus on some blood parameters of broiler chickens. To do this, one hundred (100) Hubbard broiler chickens were divided into 2 groups of 50 chickens. The chickens in the control group (A) received unsupplemented water while those treated group (B) received water supplemented with 10g/L of aqueous extract of A. leiocarpus for one week. Then, body weight, level of serum electrolytes (HCO3 -, Na+; K+, Cl-) and biochemical parameters (ASAT, ALAT, LDH) were determined.
