REVIEW OF SUTIKA PARICHARYA AND IT’S CLINICAL IMPORTANCE

Abstract
The transformation of female, from a woman to mother is the happiest event in life time, which is gained only after undergoing tremendous physical exertion during labour, so only people used to term it as women's rebirth. Ayurveda has given due importance for the care of mother at every phase of her life especially in antenatal and postnatal period. Post-natal care is a period following child birth which can be co-related with Sutika paricharya explained in Ayurveda. The women become extremely debilitated physically & mentally, after the delivery. Mithyaachara during this period definitely results in diseases which are difficult to cure. Great importance has been given to post-natal care i.e. Sutika Paricharya, as during this period she restores her health and strength. The main achievements through SutikaParicharya are Garbhashayashuddhi, Dhatuparipurnata, sthanya- vriddhi, punarnavekarana.
