Abstract
Dyslipidemia, in most of the cases, a gift of modern lifestyle full of sedentary activity and indulgence in unhealthy food habits. Usually dyslipidemia remains dormant and does not show any kind of specific sign and symptoms, until and unless when the lipid levels are too high, then in those situations symptoms like weight gain, lethargy, xanthelasma, corneal arcus, hepatosplenomegaly, etc are observed. This case deals with a 50 years old female patient, suffering from weight gain, lethargy, palpitation, constipation and mild hypertension for last one year. The patient was prescribed Varasanadi kashaya along with pathya apathya for two consecutive months and the changes in sign and symptoms as well as biological parameters related to dyslipidemia were noted. The treatment protocol was set on the basis of kapha-meda hara chikitsa, after proper literature review of the classical ayurvedic texts. After the treatment schedule of two months there was a significant improvement in the complaints of patients as well as in the biological parameters.
