PAIN MANAGEMENT IN AVABAHUKA:- COMPARATIVE (MID-STUDY) CASE SERIES

Abstract
Avabahuka is one of the disease among Vatavyadhi’s, which is too much painful with restricted movement that‟s lead to disturb the sleep and also hamper day to day activities with routine work. Its prevalence rate is 11 to 30%. Avabahuka presented with classical symptoms like “Amsa Sandhi Shoola, Amsa Sandhi Sthabdata and Bahupraspanditahara.” Aims:- To evaluate the comparative efficacy of Atasyadi Modak with Agnikarma and Atasyadi Modak without Agnikarma in Avabahuka. Objectives:- 1. To study the efficacy of Atasyadi Modak with Agnikarma in Avabahuka. 2. To study the individual effect of Atasyadi Modak in Avabahuka. Methodology:- So, here had taken 30 subjects with inclusive criteria divided into 2 \ Group‟s selected Randomly with 15subjects in each Group for 28 days. Group1:- Atasyadi Modak 5gm Adhobhakta with Agnikarma, Group2:- Atasyadhi Modak 5gm Adhobhakta without Agnikarma. So, here the results are Bahupraspanditahara (restricted movement) are much more relieved by Group 1 rather than Group 2. While in Acute onset with less Painful Arc Group 2 act better. The Drug (Atasyadhi Modak) which act as Vatakaphashamak due to its Tikata, Katu Rasa with Laghu, Snighadha, Ruksha Guna which give result by decreasing vitiated Vata. While with Agnikarma procedure, its Ushana, Sukshma, Thekshna and Ashukari Guna of Agni, pacifies vitiated Vata and Kapha which result increase in local temperature leads to good flow of tissue perfusion of blood that leads to reduced in inflammation/ pain which ultimately shows Free Shoulder Movements. Conclusion:- So, from Present study, can be concluded that Group 1 is better than Group 2 in Chronic condition with better lifestyle.
