EVOLUTION OF ANTISPASMODIC ACTIVITY OF MUKKADUKATHI MATHIRAI

Abstract
Siddha medicine, traditional system of healing that originated in South India and is considered to be one of India’s oldest systems of medicine. The Siddha system is based on a combination of ancient medicinal practices and spiritual disciplines as well as alchemy and mysticism. Medical plants are not only a major resources base for the traditional medicine but also provide livelihood and health security to a large segment of population. Antispasmodics that relieves, prevents or lower the incidence of muscle spasm especially those of smooth muscle such as in the bowel wall. Thus the research article will give more information about the siddha formulation MUKKADUKATHI MATHIRAI with its antispasmodic activity.
