TILANAALKSHAR IN MUTRAASHMARI (RENAL CALCULI): A CASE STUDY

Abstract

In astamahagadha (eight fatal diseases), mutrashmari is also described among it. The disease Mutrashmariis formed in the urinary system. In modern medicine terminology, it is compared to Urolithiasis. Urolithiasis is a consequence of complex physico-chemical processes which involves sequence of events in the formation of any Urinary stone. Tilanaalkshar acts as an alkalizer. Further, when it is combined with Buttermilk, synergetic action of alkalizer is enhanced and appreciating the results in disintegration and elimination of urinary stones from urinary tract.As this is single case study, the same intervention can be used on larger population to see the efficacy of Tilanaalkshar in the management of Mutrashmari (Urolithiasis).
