FORMULATION AND EVALUTION OF COLOUR COSMETICS USING BEET ROOT

Abstract

The desires to look beautiful and attractive have been rooted in humans for thousands of years. In the present day era, it is found that there is a reluctance to use synthetic colours generally in cosmetic industry as there are certain disadvantages of synthetic colours which adversely affect the system of user. Moreover the user of these days and age has become more aware and selective of the product they use. As a result, cosmetics containing active ingredients (beet root powder) have been used to improve the skins natural appearance. Beet root powder is the natural colouring material which gives natural glow to the skin. Beet root gives nourishment to the skin. Beta cyanine, the pigment that gives beet root its colour, is antioxidants. Beet root also have the healing power. So the present work focused on to formulate and evaluate various coloured preparations like Liquid preparation, compact rouge/blusher, using the beet root colour pigment. The main objective of this paper was to provide the eco-friendly, health protective composition containing natural ingredients and colour with multiple benefits.
