MODE OF ACTION OF KALYANAKA GHRITA IN UNMADA; A REVIEW

Abstract

In this review article is an attempt to analyse the probable mode of action of kalyanaka ghrita in various disease. Kalyanaka ghrita is a formulation which has been describe in various ayurveda text book like Charak samhita, Sushruta samhita, Astanga Hrudaya etc. According to Charak samhita, kalyanaka ghrita is a poly herbal preparation of 28 drugs. It is an ayurvedic medicine in herbal ghee form. Kalyanaka ghrita is a widely used Formulation in case of disease of psychiatric origin like Apasmara, Unmada etc.
