Abstract
The study was under taken with an aim of formulation
characterization and Evalution of Amlodipine microspheres using
Ethyl cellulose polymer. Preformulation study was done on pure drug.
And results directed for further course of formulation. Based on
preformulation studies different batches of Amlodipine microspheres
formulated by using selected polymer. Spheres were evaluated for
bulk density, tapped density, compressibility index and angle of
repose . Dissolution of batch F1, F2, F3 was carried out in PH 6.8
phosphate buffer medias. Based an dissolution tests, it was concluded
that F3 statisfactory release in 24 hours. From the above results and
disscussion it is concluded that formulation of control release spheres
of Amlodipine containing Ethylcellulose (1:9Ratio). F3 can be taken
as an ideal or Optimized formulation of control release for 24 hours release as it ful fills all
the requirements for sustained release.
