Abstract Background: Pes planus causes impaired plantar load distribution, excessive stresses on foot, ankle, knee and hip joints. Aim: To investigate the effectiveness of gluteal and knee muscle strengthening and talonavicular mobilization on naviculardrop, pain and disability in adult with flat foot. Objective: To compare the effectiveness of gluteal and knee muscles strengthening exercise program with conventional foot intrinsic strengthening exercise and talonavicular mobilization program in adult with flat foot. Procedure: An experimental study was conducted on females between 20 to 30 years of age with u/l flat foot, consisted of a total of 45 subjects with 15 subjects equally divided into 3 groups using simple random sampling with random allocation. Group A was given conventional foot intrinsic strengthening exercises and Group B was given gluteal and knee muscle strengthening exercise and Group c was mobilization program for 4 weeks. Pre and post intervention assessment which includes Navicular drop test, Foot function index. Results: Statistical analysis was done using the paired-t test (intra-group) and unpaire-t test (inter-group). Both the groups showed a significant improvement in navicular drop and foot function index (p Keywords: Flat foot, gluteal muscle strengthening, short foot plantar exercises, foot pain, diability, navicular drop.
