Abstract

AN EXPLORATORY STUDY OF MANOVAHA STROTAS CHIKITSA IN PERSPECTIVE OF TWACH AROGA- A CASE STUDY

Abstract

Introduction: Psychodermatology which is a new branch of a science addresses the relationship between skin and mind. It is estimated that more than 1/3 rd of patient seeking treatment of skin disease having underlying pshychiatric problem. Treatment of such Manas Hetu’s also plays an important role while treating skin diseases. Psoriasis is a auto immune disorder which have a very close relation with stress factor. Psychological stress triggers the condition of patient. The present study has been undertaken to evaluate the effect of Manovaha strotas Chikitsa along with shaman chikitsa in Twacharoga. Aim: To evaluate Manovaha Strotas Chikitsa in Perspective of Twacharoga. Objective 1. To study the relationship between psychological factor and psoriasis. 2. To study Manovaha strotas Chikitsa along with shaman chikitsa in Twacharoga. Methodology: For the present study we have reported 36 year old male patient having symptoms of itchy, scaly patch on skin at left leg along with insomnia since 8 years. Detailed history of patient with previous disorders was taken. Roga Pariksha with respect to Strotasa Parikshana, Ashtavidha. Parikshana, and Aahara –Vihara was taken in consideration. The Patient was treated with Jatamansi phanta and shirodhara along with Shamana Chikitsa. The present study was carried out in Twacharoga Vibhaga, Govt. Ayurvedic College, Nagpur. Discussion: Jatamansi Phanta and shirodhara was given to patient taking in consideration of stress factor. Conclusion: Manovaha Strotasa Chikitsa seems to have synergistic action along with Shaman Chikitsa in treating Twachavikara. In this case study successful management of this case with Manovaha Chikitsa is being highlighted.
