ROLE OF AYURVEDIC DRUG IN THE MANAGEMENT OF PARIKARTIKA (FISSURE-IN-ANO): A CASE STUDY

Abstract

Parikartika (Fissure-in-ano) is a Gudgat (Anal region) Vyadhi (Disease). A longitudinal tear at Posterior Midline Portion of Anus is an Anal fissure. The symptoms of Fissures in Ano are Burning Pain at Anal region, Bleeding during defecation, Abdomen bloating, Unable to Seat, Itching. These symptoms resemble Parikartika in Ayurveda. Parikartika means Kartanvat pida (Cutting like pain) around anal region. Anal Fissure is a common problem facing now a day's due to faulty lifestyle and consumption of unhealthy food. Present Case Study of 24 year male Patients having symptoms of Gudapradeshi Daha (Burning at anal region), Gudapradeshi vedana (Pain at anal region), Saraktmalpravrutti (Bleeding during defecation), Malavstambh (Constipation), Difficulty to seat due to burning pain, Itching. Diagnosis done as a Parikartika (Fissures in Ano) undergo the Ayurveda Shaman treatment with Sitz bath for 15 days. After 15 days Patients were much relieved. Present Case Study is to Aim to study the Parikartika (fissure In Ano) in Ayurveda perspective and observed the result with Ayurveda medicine.
