INTERDISCIPLINARY USE OF AGAD YOGA (VISHAGHNA KALPA) IN AYURVEDA – A REVIEW

. Abstract The Agada yoga (Vishaghna kalpa) described in Agadatantra, is used in treating various disease, like- case of poisoning, skin manifestation of poison and many systemic diseases. Agada may be of poisonous or non-poisonous origins (animal, plants, earth). These Agada yoga act faster than other drugs because of its property (Ras, Guna, Virya, Vipak, prabhava) which encounter the effect of poison. It acts as fast as poison so Agada is very important in treating diseases and also have a great scope in developing new Agada yoga, as a fast-acting drug. These drugs are used to treat the cases of poisoning and its complication. Hence, Agadtantra have a very important role in the treatment of various diseases along with Visha Chikitsa.
