THE SARS-COV-2-DELTA VARIANT IS A BITTER TRUTH THAT MUST BE FACED EVEN IN THE PRESENCE OF VACCINES

. Abstract In October 2020, the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) Delta mutant variant was identified in India, and then it spread to various countries all over the world. This form of the virus was linked to significant Coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccines breakthrough severe infection, hospitalization and mortalities. Novel variants of the virus that are resistant to vaccines could infect millions of fully vaccinated people all over the world after countries opening up. Consequently, both practicing safety measures to reduce SARS-CoV-2 spreading, and increasing the vaccination rate should be implemented to avoid the expected catastrophic complications of this brutal Delta variant of the virus.
