A CRITICAL REVIEW ON ‘DRISHTI’ AND ‘ROMA KOOPA’ AS ACHALA ANGA EXPLAINED BY ACHARYA SUSHRUT

. Abstract This review focus on how the study of anatomy in India has evolved through the centuries. This article focus on the commentary made by Sushrut about Drishti and Roma koopa. Sushruta explained about these two things in Garbha Vyakaran Adhyay from Sharir Sthana. It is easy to describe the thigs that we can see by naked eye i.e. macroscopic anatomy. But Acharya has explained the microscopic anatomical fact in such a beautiful and concise manner that seems to be impossible without the help of any advanced instruments like microscope or slit lamp etc. He suggests that Drishti and Roma Koopa are the Achala Anga of our body, that means it do not grow over time as age increases.
