Abstract

"A CLINICAL STUDY ON "ASHWAGANDHADI GUGGULU" AND "RASNADWADASHAK KWATH" IN THE MANAGEMENT OF AAMVATA W.S.R. TO RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS"

Abstract

"Ama" is the substance formed as a result of the Mandagni and irregular eating habits, and then it is conjugated throughout the body in the form of Amavisha and established in joints, aggravating the Vata" that is present, resulting in the ailment known as Aamvata. In current settings, "Aamvata" is associated with "Rheumatoid Arthritis" (R.A.), a disease whose specific etiopathogensis is unknown and hence referred to be an auto immune disease. Rheumatoid Arthritis is characterised by bilateral symmetry, affecting the tiny joints of the hands and feet and spreading to bigger joints. R.A. is a chronic illness that primarily affects people in their forties and fifties. In Ayurveda Langhana, Swedana, Deepana, Pachana, Katu Tikata Aushadha, Anuvasana, & Kshara Basti are mentioned as line of treatment of Aamvata. The trial drugs in present study i.e., “Ashwagandhadi Guggulu” and “Rasnadwadashak Kwath”, are described in the management of Aamvata and these drugs possesses all the above- mentioned properties to break or reverse the pathogenesis of Aamvata. Total 45 patients of Aamvata were randomly selected for the present study, between the age group of 16 to 60 years in either sex. 'Ashwagandhadi Guggulu' and 'Rasnadwadashak Kwath‟ showed great improvement (63.96%) in most of the disease's cardinal characteristics like Sandhishoola, Sandhishotha Sandhijadyta, Angmarda, Aruchi, Trishna, Alasya, Gaurava, Jwara, Apaka & Bahumootrata, as well as in ESR, CRP, and RA Factor at extremely significant level.
