ANALYTICAL STUDY OF SHADANGA GHRITA GUGGULU

Abstract

Shushkakshipaka is a disease of eye mentioned by Acharya Sushruta and as well as Acharya Vagbhata under Sarvagata rogas. Guggulu is an important medicine in Ayurvedic science, having many important components which are mainly indicated in vata and kapha disorders. Guggulu is a resin of commiphora mukul (guggulu tree). Shadanga ghrita guggulu is the drug mentioned in Bhaishjayaratnawali. Shadanga ghrita guggulu was prepared by method described in Ayurvedic text. The purpose of the present study is to analyze Shadanga ghrita guggulu in Shushkakshipaka roga.
