AYURVEDIC MANAGEMENT OF CHRONIC DVT: A CASE REPORT

. Abstract Deep Vein Thrombosis is a condition when a thrombus lodges in the deep veins, most commonly of the lower limbs, and leads to venous insufficiency. Chronic DVT i.e. older than 2 months gives rise to complications like pain, edema, venous ulcers, varicosities and thrombophlebitis. The present is a case of a 48 year old female diagnosed with chronic DVT in her left lower limb that was managed successfully with ayurvedic shamana and shodhana therapy.
