THE ROLE OF AHAR AND PATHYAPATYA IN DAY TO DAY LIFE W.R.S. TO ANNAVAHA SROTAS VIKARA

Abstract

Ayurveda is the ancient medical science.Swasthasya swasthya rakshanam and vyadhiparimokshan are the main objectives. Now a days changing food habbits, lack of exercise, sedentary life style, late mornings, working late nights, increased stress, all these factors of modern lifestyle influence on physical and mental health of human beings. Annavaha srotas is one of the important srotas described in ayurveda. According to ayurveda unhealthy diet and vihar are responsible for annavaha srotas dushti which results in various diseases. Healthya diet and vihar keeps annavaha srotas healthy. With healthy diet there are some aharopayogi niyam called ahar –vidhivisheshytana for propoer nourishment of body. when food is taken properly and acoording to rules(ahar upayogi niyam) then only benefits of ahar can be achieved. Any defect in diet and even in their preparation leads to ill disease. So this present article presenting aharopayogi niyam, Pathyapathya and some preparations to enhance oue digestive fire(agni) to beat the annavahasroto vikar/dusti.
