DRUG TREATMENT, MANAGEMENT, THERAPY AND DIET TO BE FOLLOWED IN OBESITY

. Abstract Obesity consists a major nutritional health problem in developed and developing countries, which has reached epidemic proportions. Obesity is defined as the condition of excessive fat accumulation to such an extent that affects the individual’s health. The purpose of the present review was to explore the medication and therapy (Allopathy, Ayurvedic with drugs, Ayurvedic Panchkarma Theraphy, Behavioral therapy/ Psychotherapy, Chinese therapy, Electroconvulsive therapy, Homeopathy) for treatment of obesity. Some wild plants and their parts (Prickly chaff flower, Calamus, Guggulu, Bitter melon, Black Pepper, Ashwagandha etc.) are frequently used to treat obesity. The drug may induce reduction in the Lipid profile content present in drug, which may lead to the weight loss. Patient BMI index was also considered as one of the basic parameter of its estimation.
