IN VITRO FREE RADICAL SCAVENGING ACTIVITY OF ASHGOURD AND ITS POTENTIAL ABILITY TO TREAT SEVERAL SEVERE DISEASES

Abstract

Ash gourd is one of the fruits boon tohuman beings having composition of all the essential constituents that are essential for good health and quality human life. It can be store for long duration. There are varieties of ash gourd species found. It belongs toCucurbit family it is a fruit producing plants with 130 genera and 800 species and it is one of the genetically discrete groups of food plant it provide an Essential dietary fibre, like β-carotene (pro-vitamin A), potassium and vitamin C. Essential minerals like calcium, magnesium, ferrous, zinc, Consuming dietary fibre regularly can prevent and treat diabetes mellitus, obesity and cardiovascular disease and many more. Biochemical activity of the fruit includes anti-oxidative, antiinflammatory, anti-angiogenic, detoxificant, and curvative effects in treating various ailments. The paper we present is mainly based severe chronic disease active chemical constitutes Nutritional values of plants present in different parts of the fruits. The total soluble solids and acidity and the sensory score did not change significantly during the storage period.
