FORMULATION AND EVALUATION OF POLYHERBAL SHAMPOO AS HAIR CARE PRODUCT

. Abstract Introduction: Ayurvedic herbal formulations are always considered as centre of magnetism in high-speed growing society. The objective of current study is to formulate and evaluate polyherbal shampoo powder as hair care product. Material and Methods: In the present study, plants parts were collected dried, grinned, sieved and mixed well. Formulation of herbal shampoo powder was prepared, which contains several known herbal crude drugs. The formulation was developed and further evaluated for various parameters like organoleptic characters, common powder characteristics for example angle of repose, bulk density, tapped density, hausner’s ratio, cars index and physiochemical properties of powder such as pH, ash value, washability, solubility, wetting time, skin irritation test, loss on drying, foaming index, foam stability, dirt dispersion test, nature of hair after washing and cleansing test. Result and conclusion: The results obtained after evaluation were satisfactory and presented in detail. It was concluded that polyherbal shampoo formulated was showing good qualities of shampoo and hence can be used as an herbal shampoo.
