. Abstract Background: The most unstable and movable joint of human body is the Shoulder joint which undergoes serious stress and strain every day. Adhesive capsulitis or Frozen shoulder is the clinical condition involving shoulder joint leading to pain, stiffness and restricted range of movement. It is considered as Avabahuka in Ayurveda, one of the vatavyadhi with predominant feature of Stambha and Shula. Aims and objectives: To understand the probable mode of action of Maharshabhyadi taila and study various literature pertaining to the drugs used. Kapikachu, Nimba, Bala and Masha processed in oil as described in Gadanigraha is named as Maharshabhyadi taila is considered here as the treatment protocol. Discussion & Conclusion: Even though various other sneha are proved to be effective for the management of Avabahuka before, this taila is still remaining unexplored and not available in market. Hence an attempt is made as a pharmaceutical review to prove the efficacy of Maharshabhyadi taila in the management of Avabahuka.
