ROLE OF PRADARANTAK RAS IN MANAGEMENT OF ASRUGDARA

Abstract

Today’s 21st century is the modern era of science and technology. In this era women are working in each and every field. Women take care of everyone’s health in their family but neglect their own health. So they are victim of so many disease. Pradar is one of the common gynecological problems found in females. Pradar refers to excessive or prolonged bleeding during menstrual cycle which can be correlate with AUB in modern science. Any uterine bleeding outside the normal volume, duration, regularity or frequency is considered as abnormal uterine bleeding (AUB). Abnormal menstrual bleeding pattern have been traditionally expressed by terms like menorrhagia, metrorrhagia, polymenorrhagia and oligomenorrhea. Normal menstrual cycle interval is 28 days (21-35days), menstrual flow duration 4-5 days and normal menstrual blood loss should be 35 ml (20-80 ml). Any deviation in the above criteria comes under AUB. Hormonal therapy is the treatment suggested in modern practice. As we all know the hazards of long term use of hormones, we should try some potent ayurvedic drugs having good effect with less harm. Pradarantak ras has nice effect in asrugdar.
