A CONCEPTUAL REVIEW OF LITERATURE OF VIRECHAN KARMA WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO SHODHAN KARMA

. Abstract Evacuation of the fecal matter and other accumulation of Dosha in the lower gastrointestinal tract through the anal route are known as Virechana Karma. Virechana is less stressful procedure than Vamana, has less possibility of complications and could be done easily, so it is widely used as Shodhana therapy in routine. It is more acceptable to all classes of patients. In addition to the acceptability and popularity, the Virechana Karma is considered the best treatment for morbid and increased Pitta Dosha and also to other two Dosha to some extent. It is less tedious procedure than Vamana and hence less possibility of complications, and could be done easily. So Virechana Karma is widely practiced Shodhana therapy in routine. Keywords: .
