Rahul Sahu*, Brijesh Sirohi and S. K. Lariya
. Abstract Tinospora crispa plant is the most-widely growing species of the family Menispermaceae. Tinospora crispa contains a number of chemical constituents which could account for alkaloids, diterpenoid lactones, glycosides, steroids, sesquiterpenoids, phenolics, aliphatic compounds and polysaccharides. % Yield of leaves of ethanolic extract of Tinospora crispa was found 6.45 % Phytochemical analysis revealed that tannins, proteins, alkaloids, phenol, glycosides, saponins were found to be present in crude ethanolic extract of Tinospora crispa and flavonoids, carbohydrates and diterpenes are absence. The total alkaloid content of the extract was estimated taking Atropine as standard. The alkaloid content was found to be as: 0.685 (mg/100mg of extract) in extract. The reported medicinal attributes and antioxidant properties of the natural substances prompted our assessment of the possible protective effects of ethanolic extract of Tinospora crispa leaf against IND-induced gastric lesions in rat model. Ethanolic extract of Tinospora crispa leaf showed significant (P Keywords: Tinospora crispa, Ethanolic extract, Tinospora crispa, Indomethacin induced, Ulcers [Full Text Article] [Download Certificate] |
