Abstract

Hair that is healthy, long, and vibrant can significantly improve one's personality. Since a result, maintaining a healthy state of hair is critical for human well-being, as hair, like the face, is a reflection of a healthy state of the body. Hair is the first thing that people notice about a woman's or a man's beauty. Human civilizations are also more psychologically affected by scalp and hair disorders. Minor hair changes, such as greying and early hair fall, have an impact on an individual's self-confidence and self-esteem. All diseases and miseries in a live body, according to Ayurveda, are caused by the discord and disequilibrium of the Doshas (physiological regulators of the body). As a result, Ayurvedic therapies are primarily used to heal diseases, prevent sickness, and restore the body's Dosha, Dhatu (Tissue), Malas (Excretory waste), Mana (Mind), and Gunas (Spiritual connection). Hair was considered a Mala (waste product) of Asthi Dhatu (Bone) by Acharya Charka, but Sharngdhara considered it an Updhathu (tissue) of Asthi by Sharngdhara. The Ayurvedic Jagrans for hair diseases such as Khalitya (Hair loss), Palitya (Premature Greying of Hairs), Indralupta (Alopecia areata), and Darunaka (Dandruff) are documented in various Classics. Vatta, Pitta, and Kapha are also involved in the aetiopathogenesis, as are other illnesses of body disbalance. Keshya is a woman who lives in India (Hair tonic) Hair fall and pre-mature greying are treated with Keshya-Samjanana (Hair revitalizer) and Keshya-Ranjana (Natural hair restorative agent). The Poshana (nutrition) of Dhatu was promoted in classical Ayurvedic Chikitsasutra (treatment guideline) for the normal growth of Updhatu and Mala. Similarly, the treatment of Mula (Origin) of Srotas (body's micro and marco channels) is taken into account. Hair abnormalities are treated with Rasayana (rejuvenator), Panchkarama, Snehana, and Vasti Chikitsa.

Keywords: Hair, Hair Problems, Ayurveda modalities, Rasayana, Keshya.
