PHARMACEUTICAL SUSPENSION: A REVIEW

. Abstract In the present review, we are presenting some aspects of pharmaceutical suspension with their types, properties, formulations, bioavailability, manufacturing and latest advancements in pharmaceutical suspension. Suspensions are an important category of pharmaceutical formulation. Suspension may be meant for oral administration, external application or parenteral use. This article outlines different types of suspension with their properties, manufacturing, applications. Packaging and storage of suspension is quite important nowadays. Suspension should contain special label and advice so as to increase patient compliance. Preservation and quality control testing are important for pharmaceutical suspension. It is the most commonly used dosage form as drug in suspension exhibits higher rate of bioavailability than other dosage forms.
