IDIOPATHIC MEMBRANOUS NEPHROPATHY: - A CASE REPORT

. Abstract Membranous nephropathy is an autoimmune disorder that is rare in children. Membranous nephropathy is a multicausal disease that can be mainly caused by disease or drugs like hepatitis B, NSAIDs respectively and it can also be idiopathic. In this case report, we studied the disease into two different age groups and gender in which, the first case was a 17-year-old male child that come to the tertiary care hospital with complaints of pedal edema, scrotal edema, facial puffiness, penile swelling along decreased micturition, abdominal distension. Symptoms and blood reports along with USG reports reveal impressions and findings that most prominently occur in membranous nephropathy. Whereas, in case second, a 48-year-old female came to the tertiary care hospital with complaints of pedal edema, facial puffiness, decreased urine output, hematuria. Symptoms and blood reports along with USG reports concluded that the patient was suffering from membranous nephropathy. Membranous nephropathy is not curable and only symptomatic treatment can be provided. This case report layout an insight into membranous nephropathy along with its pathophysiology and its pharmacotherapy in accordance with the hospital guidelines. Early detection of the disease will assist in further complications that are related to membranous nephropathy. Keywords: Membranous nephropathy, NSAIDs, Hepatitis B.
