A CROSS SECTIONAL STUDY FOR THE ASSESSMENT OF STRESS AMONG UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS AND ITS ASSOCIATION WITH DEHA MANAS PRAKRITI

. Abstract Ayurveda aims to cure the diseases that caused by any change in the vitals. Vata, Pitta and Kapha are the main vitals according to the Ayurveda. These are having the great power to maintain the healthy environment within the body or to shake up the balance and turn the condition into the diseased one. Vata, Pitta and Kapha are the main ingredients in evolution of the universe as well as body. These three basic fundaments are responsible for the characteristics of the person. The personalities are explained as prakriti in Ayurveda. The composition of dosha in prakriti formation has role in the person‟s physical appearance and mental behavior. The mental characteristics are broadly explained as Manas Prakriti in Ayurveda. According to the predominance of Sattva, Raja, Tama different manas prakriti obtain in a person. These different manas prakriti affect the behaviour of a person in particular mental condition. There are many manasik bhava as krodh, lobha, moha , mada, matsar, chinta, irshya etc. these can be controlled by sattva guna. The modern life is full of competition. Especially, the students in a state between educational and professional phase. The students between these stages are more vulnerable to stress as they have to cope up with the professional life suddenly. The present study is done to observe the mental stability among the students according to their deha and manas prakriti. The stress is measured in about 300 undergraduate students with help of authentic stress measuring scale. Deha prakriti and manas prakriti assessed with the help of authentic software.
